History
The “UTTAM” Group was founded in the year 1900 with Headquarters in D. I. Khan, now in Pakistan. It had various Trading /Financing/Export-Import activities mainly with Afghanistan and Iran. The group then dealt primarily in Tea, Fruits-dry & Fresh Spices, Textiles etc. In year 1965, Roop Chand Uttam Chand Industries was formed for manufacturing of Oil Hydraulic Systems; the project was promoted by Dr. Panna Lal Bhatia the youngest of four brothers . In early seventies, the Group diversified into manufacturing of Industrial and Medical Gases under the name of Uttam Air Products Private Limited. 2010 – Joint Venture with The Luxfer Group for Manufacturing Light Weight Seamless Aluminium Cylinders. Luxfer is the Industry leader worldwide catering to 80% of the global aluminium and Composite Cylinder Market. 2005 – The Group entered into an Exclusive Distributorship agreement with Luxfer Gas Cylinders for Sale of high Pressure Gas containment systems, into the SAARC Region. 2001 – The group was also the first in the country to establish a Cylinder Testing Station, imported from Sweden certified by Department of Explosives, Nagpur, India. This enabled them to test and re-certify the entire Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) fleet of CNG cylinders. 2000 – Installed a state of the art facility for manufacturing of NITROUS OXIDE. This facility boasted of the most modern plant in India imported from Switzerland. 1998 – The group set up North India’s largest dedicated Air Separation Unit, exclusively for the compressed merchant gas market. 1996 – The Firm entered into a Joint Venture with Air Liquide : World Leader in Gasses. 1994 –Entered into Collaboration with Swiss firm Carba Gas, a subsidiary of Air Liquide (France) 1987 – The manufacturing capacity was further expanded and new product lines added. 1983 – The Company Doubled its Gas Production Capacity. 1973 – Group diversified into industry. 1940 – Moved base to Delhi India. 1900 – Formation of parent company Roop chand uttam chand. |
